Today at Savings Accounts 411, we’re going to look at the Washington Mutual Platinum card.

The WaMu platinum card works just like any other credit card: you charge something, get a bill at the end of your statement and either you pay it off or you pay part of it off. There are quite a few selling points to this card:

No annual fee.

If you’ve got good credit, or even decent credit, there is no reason you should ever pay an annual fee for a credit card. With all the different options today for credit cards, even rewards cards that pay you back and don’t have any annual fees, even with the card moving to Chase Bank, there’s no fee.

Free access to your FICO credit score.

This was by far many people’s favorite aspect of the WaMu Platinum card. Now that Chase Bank has the accounts, this is no longer being offered. Too bad, because if you wanted to check your credit score, all you have to do is jump online at their site, and there your credit score was displayed. They used to also send you alerts if your credit score varies 20 points or more. Chase charges for this.

There are also different perks to this card: a customized spending profile that tells you where you’ve spent money at, report builder that creates a report of your credit card activity within the last 17 months, and a budget calculator. All are complimentary with your online credit card services. All of these things from the old Washington Mutual platinum card are still there with Chase Bank.

Washington Mutual Platinum Credit Card Review is of a card that is now owned by JP Morgan. As of the end of 2008, Washington Mutual was purchased and the Chase Credit Card branch of JP Morgan has taken over these accounts. For about half of this past year card holders were able to access their accounts thru the Providian web site but that too has been moved to chase.com as well as WaMu Online Banking, there is a redirect.

There is access also at wamucardslogin.net along with information. There are no monthly or annual fees associated with this card. With WaMu Online Banking, card holders can monitor their spending and their FICO score.

All access to your account will be channeled thru Chase online. There are WAMU credit cards still available but it is only in name. The bank and all of its holdings have been absorbed by Chase. The reputation and history is all gone. If you feel it necessary to hold on to your card, it is your choice. But card holders must realize all of the relationships they had established with Washington Mutual are gone.

Chase does have its good points, but they are a very large organization. This allows them to give great deals and introductory offers of 0% interest. There are also very large with capital assets to draw on for financial stability. This can make some investors and customers at ease during these financially uncertain times.

With consolidations and mergers happening constantly, keeing the name on a credit card or any other financial statement is just identifying them at the present time, maybe. This Washington Mutual Platinum Credit Card Review does not have a comment for a card from a bank that is only a name anymore.

As we continue to cover Washington Mutual changes, we here at Savings Accounts 411 keep getting questions from our readers. This time, we’re addressing how credit cards moved to Chase after the takeover.

Chase Bank is the new parent of Washington Mutual and has integrated all the businesses of WaMu. WaMucards Online is the older name of credit card services provided by the company. They are practically taken as Chase Bank cards after the integration but are often interchanged with each other. Although the company used to offer many brands of credit cards, all of them have become obsolete with the integration or have been inducted into the company.

Washington Mutual credit cards are now available under the Slate with BLUEPRINT brand. These credit cards offer a great number of services and have also introduced new aspects of cash free shopping. There are no annual fees deducted on these credit cards and the starting Annual Percentage Rate is 0%. Additionally, there is an unlimited cashback facility with the starting amount of $50. Other brands of credit cards include Ink, Sapphire and Freedom with each of them offering a number of perks and options.

WaMu online credit cards can be interchanged with the newer range of products from the Chase Bank. The company has already integrated the accounts of WaMu customers into its database and they can purchase these credit cards by contacting their local bank branches. It is important to note that older brands of credit cards that were offered by WaMu are not included in the above-mentioned products. Customers need to contact their respective bank branches to settle out any old payments or buy new cards.

It’s now official. All credit cards at WaMu have been moved over to Chase, after JP Morgan Chase bought out Washington Mutual late last year. The Washington Mutual credit cards have now been replaced with Chase cards and terms, but there are some good WaMu credit cards offered under the new Chase name.

Currently, the simplest offer is the Slate card which has a 0% introductory annual percentage rate (APR), patented fraud protection with zero liability, email and text alerting for card transactions, and no annual fee. Many old WaMu credit cards were converted to this type.

The Unlimited Cash Back card (Chase Freedom), has a 1% cash back offer for all purchases, 3% cash back in categories like gas, home improvements, etc. and a 0% introductory APR. There is no annual fee and a $50 cash back on your first purchase offer too.

For points earners, your credit cards at WaMu were limited, but now with Chase there’s the 2 points for every dollar offer on their Unlimited Sapphire card and those points never expire. You get 24/7 access to phone support, there’s no annual fee, and your first purchase could net you 10,000 bonus points with this card.

Finally, the business owner will like that their Washington Mutual credit cards were likely swapped to the Ink card, which has Ultimate Rewards (similar to the above card), online shopping bonuses, and points can be used for more business-oriented purposes like travel or gift cards for gifting. It has zero liability protection, of course, and is globally accepted.

So now that your credit cards at WaMu have switched to Chase, you might be finding that the new cards are better than the old. Who knows?

Washington Mutual is now owned by Chase Bank, which is taking over Washington Mutual Online banking credit cards now. Those Washington Mutual credit cards are now Chase cards, but offered from the Washington Mutual Online credit cards website. We here at Savings Accounts 411 thought we’d have a look at them to let you know what’s offered now.

Right now at Washington Mutual Online credit cards, the Platinum is one of the top offers. This card has a 0% annual percentage rate (APR) for 12 months and then rates as low as 9.24% APR. Balance transfers to this card are also at 0% for the first year.

For the new or returning student, the Student Rewards card may be the answer from Washington Mutual Online banking credit cards. These have a 3 month 0% APR with rates after that as low as 13.24% APR. This card is a good offer for the student who needs to keeping establishing credit.

Several specialty cards from Washington Mutual Online credit cards are also available, focusing on businesses or brands with reward points towards purchasing from them. These range from Volkswagen to Surbaru to Starbucks to Amazon.com. These are fairly standard credit card offers, but have the added incentive of the Washington Mutual credit cards points towards purchases at the brand.

Overall, there are great offers from Washington Mutual Online credit cards right now, all well worth looking into if you’re in the market for a new card.

Most people know now that Washington Mutual Online is becoming Chase Bank. Those with a current WaMu credit card will be getting a Chase card soon. For those interested in new credit card offers, we here at Savings Accounts 411 thought we should look at what Washington Mutual credit card offers are available now.

When you click on the credit cards link on WaMu Online, you’re taken to the Chase Bank website credit card offers area. There’s a lot of offers to choose from, but we’ll look at the most intriguing here for comparison.

The Low Interest card from Chase (Washington Mutual credit card) is worth considering merely for its low interest of 9.24% annual percentage rate (APR) to 13.24% depending on credit. It includes a 0% APR for the first 12 months for transfers and purchases.

The 3% Bonus Cash Back WaMu credit card (Chase) is another popular choice. And for good reason. The variable rate is low (under 18.24%, as low as 9.24% with good credit) and with a 0% fixed APR for a year on balance transfers. All purchases of gasoline, groceries, and fast food get 3% cash back for the first six months. Everything else gets 1% cash back and there’s no annual fee.

A host of specialty cards for those who shop Amazon, are AARP members, like SonyRewards, need a student card, want Starbucks rewards, and more are also available. With Washington Mutual credit card offers going to Chase now, there are a lot of offers and incentives to choose from. Definitely worth a look.

WaMu Cards – Great Credit Cards for People Who Enjoy Online Banking!!

The Washington Mutual online banking interface is not just good for managing your Washington Mutual savings. The WaMu online banking interface is also great for managing your WaMu cards. The Mastercard issued Washington Mutual credit cards are great addition to your WaMu savings account and WaMu checking account.

If you don’t already have a Washington Mutual Platinum Credit Card, this article will highlight some of the pertinent features you should know. If you already do your banking through the WaMu online banking website, you will be familiar with a lot of what is discussed in this wamu cards article.

Washington Mutual credit card holders can use the wamucards.com website to manage their WaMu credit cards. The wamucards.com site will allow you to see your most recent transactions and allow you to pay your bill online. This is perfect for any current washington mutual online banking user because the wamucards.com website is integrated with the general wamu.com site.

The Washington Mutual MasterCard does not have any monthly fees or annual fees. This is a great way to get a free credit card. You should never pay money for a credit card. That is what paying interest is for. To tell you the truth, I am always looking to get out of paying interest too by finding zero interest credit card promotions.

In addition to being able to monitor your recent purchases with your WaMu cards, the wamucards.com site also allows you to monitor your FICO score. This is an awesome feature. I don’t know of any online banks other than Washington mutual online banking that allows you to see your FICO score. If you know of other banks that give you a free credit report, please share this with us in the comments below.

If you do you banking with wamu online banking, check out the wamu cards. You can find out more information about these WaMu cards at the Washington Mutual online banking website.

Washington Mutual Online Banking and Twentieth Century Fox have decided to create WaMu credit cards that have a Fox Entertainment Rewards card program. These Washington Mutual credit cards will give cardholders a lot of rewards which can be used to gain Twentieth Century Fox and Fox Entertainment goods and movie products. Expect these WaMu credit cards to start being promoted in the fall of 2008.

Dave Tomlinson a senior vice president of the Washington Mutual credit cards said,

“There are a number of really unique entertainment-related rewards that we know consumers will like. We’re excited to be partnering with Twentieth Century Fox, and look forward to unveiling the full rewards program to entertainment fans nationwide when the card becomes available later this year.”

This looks like a pretty cool awards program that will be attached to the Wamu credit cards. If you don’t already have a WaMu credit cards, read more here about the Washington Mutual credit cards.

In addition to Washington Mutual online banking and Washington Mutual savings, WaMu also offers credit cards. The Washington Mutual credit cards are administered by Mastercard. This Washington Mutual Platinum Credit Card is a great addition to the Wamu banking.

This article is a review of the WaMu credit cards. We hope that we provide you with the most important information about these Washington Mutual cards. If you need more information, please visit the WaMu.com website.

These credit cards are a good choice for the mere fact that WaMu does not charge a monthly fee or annual fee. This is an absolute deal breaker for me. Why would anyone sign up for a credit card that has an annual fee. Isn’t the interest rate enough of a payment for the use of the credit?

Like the other Washington Mutual online banking options, the WaMu credit cards allow you to do all of your banking online at WaMucards.com. This is a great online banking interface where you can pay your Washington Mutual credit card bill, monitor your FICO score, and view your recent WaMu credit card purchases. I think that Washington Mutual’s online banking website sets it apart from many other credit card companies.

When trying to find the credit card that is right for you, there are several things that you need to research. This list is not intended to be exhaustive, but it is a good guide for choosing a credit card. Firstly, you need to understand its annual percentage rate. This is the interest that you will be charged for borrowing money using your card. Secondly, you need understand what fees and other charges you will have to pay. These may include monthly use fees, annual fees and late payment fees.

We hope that this review of the Washington Mutual credit cards has been helpful. If you have any questions about the WaMu credit cards, please leave a question in the comments below.
